  Five men

By Osmany Hernández García

Many people together

For setting five men free

Five Cuban citizens,

US Government says “Never”.

A fake sentence,

Put them behind bars,

Now they are so far away

From the people they love.

Cuba will never say enough

Until they are here

And we could scream without fear,

“Our brothers finally here”.

Poem to Barack Obama

By Ricardo Sabina Rodríguez

More than 10 millions of people

Are trying to save 5 heroes

They were preventing our country

From any act of terrorism

It’s easy to accuse them all

without any culpability

Having in Miami city,

You know the cream of the crop.

Tell me Barack, tell me you,

Who are the World Nobel Price,

Why don’t you set things right

And free them all just right now?

We know they all will be back

Today, Tomorrow, Next Year,

But when they finally be here

My heroes

By Dayana Roca

When I think about the Cuban Five I feel very sad because they have been in jail for too long;

but at the same time I feel very proud of them because they have been brave in prison,

they have continued their fighting and they have written about terrorism and freedom.

They are excellent people, they are Cuban people. Their efforts, values and solidarity will remain forever.

They are heroes for all times.

Maybe someday I’ll have the opportunity to talk to one of the Cuban Five, and I will tell him

that they were very important for the Revolution, that they have represented honor, dignity, love

and respect for their mother country.
